EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Even though it’s a mouthful, this effective psychotherapy model enables people to heal from the symptoms and stuck-ness of unpleasant or disturbing/painful wounding memories (or future worries). It is a memory based treatment and uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, sounds, etc.) to help unpleasant memories get unstuck and get stored in the brain properly. As a result, those painful memories or worries are no longer disturbing or bothering.  

EMDR is an evidenced-based therapy.

There have been many studies that show EMDR therapy is effective with a variety of issues including anxiety, burnout, depression, phobias, traumas. It can speed up the healing process compared to participating in a regular on-going talk psychotherapy.
